The Heart Behind Literary Inspired

Meet Meg

At Literary Inspired, my mission is to uplift the voices of indie authors, ensuring their narratives shine brightly in the digital domain. I bring a unique blend of professional experience and personal dedication to each project, aiming to create digital strategies that resonate with authors and their audiences alike.

Hello! I’m Meg, the passionate digital strategist and founder of Literary Inspired. With over 11 years of experience in digital marketing, my journey has taken me through various industries including travel, accounting, beauty, food services, and more. This diverse exposure has equipped me with a broad skill set in essential areas like web design, SEO, social media marketing, graphic design, and email marketing.

Navigating through the complexities of business management, Iโ€™ve embraced my A-Type personality to thrive amidst organized chaos, creating systems that streamline success. My approach is anything but conventional; fueled by a passion for data and a knack for rapid execution, I leverage my ADD to hyperfocus on each project, bringing dedicated attention and innovative solutions to the forefront.

In 2023, a pivotal year, I channeled my professional experience into a passion-driven missionโ€”supporting indie authors. This marked the beginning of an exclusive dedication to helping authors sail smoothly through the digital world. Currently extending my expertise to over 15 authors monthly, I offer a comprehensive suite of services, from website design and social media marketing to ARC and Street Team management and overall brand development.

My Mission

My mission goes beyond businessโ€”it’s about fostering a community where indie authors flourish. My vision is to demolish the barriers between incredible stories and eager readers by leveraging the power of digital marketing. Itโ€™s about creating meaningful connections that celebrate and amplify indie voices.

My Values and Commitment

Deeply Rooted Values

At the heart of Literary Inspired lies a commitment to clear and honest communication. I understand that not everyone will see eye to eye, and that’s perfectly okay. It’s through our differences that we find room for growth and innovation. If something I do doesn’t quite sit right with you, I’m all ears. Let’s have a conversation about it. I can’t fix what I don’t know is broken, and as someone driven by solutions, staying informed is crucial to me.

Your feedback is the compass that guides my efforts. It’s important to me that we can exchange ideas freely, that you feel comfortable sharing your thoughts, concerns, or new directions you’re considering. This open dialogue ensures that we’re always moving forward together, aligned with your goals and aspirations.

Unwavering Commitment

  • Flexibility: The publishing world is as unpredictable as it is exciting, and life, well, it has a knack for throwing curveballs. I’ve structured my services with this reality in mind, offering month-to-month flexibility. This approach gives you the security to adapt as needed, without the worry of long-term contracts. Should financial concerns or unexpected life events arise, I encourage you to talk to me. We can work through it together, finding pathways that respect both our needs.

  • Genuine Relationships: The journey of an author is filled with highs and lows, from battling imposter syndrome to navigating the complexities of self-doubt. I am continuously inspired by your resilience and creativity. My goal is to lighten that load wherever possible. Whether you need a break from social media, a pause on actively engaging with reviews, or simply more time to write (or yes, even to binge-watch Love Island), you can count on me to maintain your online presence. Your mental health and wellbeing are paramount, and I see myself as a guardian of sorts, protecting your peace so you can focus on what truly mattersโ€”your writing.

My Why: The Story Behind the Strategy

As the Head of Business Development with a background in strategy and operations, I’ve had the privilege of shaping the digital landscapes for over 150 brands. My career has been a mosaic of challenges and triumphs in digital strategy, from web design and SEO to social media marketing and content writing. Yet, amid potential corporate milestones, my pulls me toward a more personal passion: the indie author community.

The catalyst for Literary Inspired wasn’t just professional evolution; it was profoundly personal, rooted in my experience at my local Wolf Sanctuary, where I volunteer my time. Here, I learned about care, commitment, and communityโ€”values that resonate deeply with me. One interaction in particular crystallized my purpose: while visiting my sponsored wolf, Navy, a question from a new employee left me gobsmacked. “What is your gain here?” she asked.

I was taken aback, feeling suddenly vulnerable. My husband, seeing my distress, stepped in to explain in a way that only someone who knows me deeply could: “Megan is weird. She cares so deeply that she’ll cry about people and things that don’t directly impact her life. But when she’s passionate about somethingโ€”like this sanctuaryโ€”there’s no limit to her commitment. She’s weird because she cares.”

That moment, and my husband’s words, sparked a realization. I want to be remembered not just for what I’ve achieved professionally but for that ‘weird’ capacity to care, to invest myself wholeheartedly in causes and communities I believe in.

Why Indie Authors Matter

This realization propelled me to make the decision to dedicate my accumulated skills to a community brimming with potential but often overlooked. My WHY is this communityโ€”its stories, its dreams, its undervalued voices.

I see Literary Inspired as an extension of my caring, a platform where my professional expertise meets my personal mission. It’s about more than marketing; it’s about making a genuine difference in the lives of indie authors, helping them navigate the digital world to connect with readers and realize their dreams.

Remembered for Caring

In the end, I want to be remembered as someone ‘weird’ because of how fiercely I care. In a world that can often seem indifferent, I hope my dedication to indie authors and their success can be a beacon of kindness and support.

In It for the Long Haul

Supporting authors isn’t just a job; it’s a part of who I am. From tackling imposter syndrome head-on to cheering you on as you hit publish, consider me your digital marketing sidekick, your buffer against the stormy seas of publishing. Your well-being, your voice, and your dreams matter here. Together, we’ll navigate this journey, making sure your stories not only find their readers but leave a lasting impression.
