How to Add a Marketer to Your Author Facebook Page

If a marketer or assistant is running your author Facebook Page, they need real access to it, and the wrong way to give them that is to share your Facebook password. The right way is to add a marketer to your Facebook Page through Meta Business Suite, which gives them their own access with the exact permissions you choose and lets you remove it at any time. This guide covers the access levels, the steps, and the difference between adding a person and adding an agency as a partner. It assumes your Page already exists.

Full access or partial access

Meta gives you two levels when you add someone to a Page. Full control can manage everything, including settings, users, and billing. Partial access can create content, respond to messages and comments, and run ads, without touching Page settings or user management. For most marketers, partial access covers the work. Give full control only when a marketer is managing the Page end to end, including other users.

Person or partner: which route to use

There are two routes, and the right one depends on how your marketer works. Adding a person attaches access to an individual’s Facebook profile by email address. Adding a partner connects another business’s whole portfolio to yours using their Business Portfolio ID. Agencies usually prefer the partner route, because it does not tie access to one employee’s personal profile. Ask your marketer which they use. If they give you a Business Portfolio ID, use the partner route.

How to add a marketer to your Facebook Page

Step 1: Open Meta Business Suite and click Settings.

Step 2: Under Accounts, click Pages, and select your Page.

Step 3: Click Assign people. For an agency, click Assign partners instead.

Step 4: Click Add person and enter your marketer’s email address, then click Next.

Step 5: Choose the access level, full control or partial access, and click Next.

Step 6: Confirm the assets they can manage and click Send invitation.

For a partner, choose Assign partners, enter their Business Portfolio ID, set the access level, and send. Your marketer gets a notification to accept. Once they accept, they appear under the Page’s people or partners, and you can change or remove their access from the same screen.

What to Watch Out For

Do not add a marketer as a friend or share your login. Page access runs through Business Suite, separately from your personal profile. Your marketer never sees your personal account, and you never share a password.

Give partial access unless full is genuinely needed. Full control lets someone remove other users, including you. Reserve it for a marketer managing the Page completely.

Agencies usually want the partner route. If your marketer works through a business portfolio, adding them as a person by email can create a tangle later. Ask before you send the invite.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need Meta Business Suite to add a marketer?

For controlled access without sharing your login, yes. Business Suite is free, and it is where Page permissions are managed. It also lets you remove access cleanly when the work ends.

What is the difference between full control and partial access?

Full control can manage every part of the Page, including settings, billing, and other users. Partial access can create content, reply to messages, and run ads, but cannot change settings or manage users. Most marketers only need partial access.

Can I remove my marketer’s access later?

Yes. Go to Settings, then Pages, select your Page, find the person or partner, and remove their access. It takes effect immediately.

My agency asked for my Business ID or sent me a request. What is that?

That is the partner route. Agencies connect through their own business portfolio rather than a personal profile, so they either send you a request to accept or ask you to add their Business Portfolio ID under Assign partners.

Will my marketer be able to see my personal Facebook profile?

No. Page access is separate from your personal profile. Your marketer works on the Page only and never sees your personal account or friends.
